Many people have already heard about Indies Crash E3. There has been a bit of controversy around the idea that Chief Executive Officer Ian Kinsely and the other partners of Semiformal Studios came up with. When Semiformal Studios decided to attend E3, they were amazed at the amount of passes that the ESA gave them for the booth size that they were putting together. Not being able to use them all themselves, they created a way for other indie studios to get some passes and get themselves to E3 as well.
Semiformal Studios has been working on their own game, Ensemble Online, for quite a few years. They are now just weeks away from it heading into open beta. Being a game that mixes the MMO (massive multiplayer online) and RTS (real time strategy) into one, they hope it will reach a large amount of fans. As fans of the game, they wanted to create a game that was a bit like Age of Empires, but with their own spin on it. Semiformal Studios is very excited to have their game so close to beta.
I had the chance to sit down with Ian Kinsely and get an insight on what Indies Crash E3 means to them, and the process behind doing such a contest, and to learn more about Ensemble Online. The voting for Indies Crash E3 ends on May 15th, so make sure to get your votes in quickly.
