Well, here is the latest Persona 4 Arena trailer from E3. It looks quite snazy.
From the looks of the trailer, it seems that they are indeed continuing the story from Persona 4 and going back to the Midnight Channel. Also, you can see Mitsuru, Akihiko, Elizabeth and one other character, which I assume is the new shadow fighting robot, similar to Aigis from Persona 3. It’s still unknown if the characters’ shadows will be coming back into play. All of their “one liners” and nicknames seem to refer to their shadows. How the characters from Persona 3 will be introduced would be interesting. Anyone who has played both Persona 3 (FES and especially Portable) and Persona 4 know that both these games take place in the same universe, but the stories were different enough that combining them will have to take some great story telling. This is Atlus, and so far they have done great work with this intellectual property, so it is likely that Persona 4 Arena will not be just slapped together like a lot of other spin-off fighting games have been.
Persona 4 Arena is set to release this summer on the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
But aside from all the Persona 4 Arena hubub, Atlus also released a Perosna 4 Golden trailer at E3 as well.
This is also looking great. Fans of Persona 4 might want a Vita so they can keep playing with all the new additions that Atlus is making to Persona 4, and it looks like quite a bit. It looks to be bigger and better then Persona 4 and considering the great job Atlus and the Shin Megami Tensei teams did with Persona 3 Portable, then Persona 4 Golden should be a fantastic expansion of an already great game.
Persona 4 Golden is set to release this fall only on the Playstation Vita.
