Just this morning Robot Entertainment announced that Orcs Must Die! 2 will become a reality. This news is something that many Orc killing gamers have been waiting.
One thing that many players were saying was missing from the original Orcs Must Die! was co-op play. Well that has been addressed. According to Robot Entertainment CEO Patrick Hudson, “The only way we will get to a respectable death toll is by adding another killing machine and cooperative play. Bring a friend and destroy the orcs.”
The story, in Orcs Must Die! 2, begins just days after the ending of the original game. Players can choose to play as the War Mage, who just runs towards the danger or as the Sorceress, who is a new hero who uses mind-control and magic to keep the orcs from coming towards the portal.
Orcs Must Die! 2 has so many new features it is amazing. Not only is the spellbook new, but players can also use new magical trinkets which were not available before. The spellbook will allow players to set up their arsenal based upon how they play the game. The skull system has also gotten an overhaul which allows for players to continue to earn skulls if they replay the levels and the skulls and be spent on “multiple persistent upgrades for each of your defenses.”
If players have the original Orcs Must Die! they will be able to unlock some exclusive content within the sequel. So make sure that is something that is either purchased or not swiped off of the hard drive of the computers. Orcs Must Die! 2 is an action-strategy game that challenges players and their friends to team up and defend a world constantly under siege. Orcs Must Die! 2 will be available exclusively as a digital download on personal computers this summer.
